Annie's childhood was spent in the beautiful landscapes of Marlborough, filled with outdoor adventures—exploring forests and beaches, building fairy houses and driftwood huts, and diving into imagination. These experiences sparked her lifelong love for nature. Before university, she travelled across Aotearoa as a performing artist, developing a deep appreciation for creative expression. After earning a degree in creative writing, Annie pursued a teaching career, sharing her passion for nature in diverse educational settings, including a wildlife trust's education program, Steiner schools, primary and high schools, early childhood education, and with homeschool families through classes and workshops.
Now a mother and homeschool parent herself, as well as a gardener, and outdoor enthusiast, Annie combines her love for connecting with children, nature, education, and writing to create engaging and beautiful resources that truly inspire.
Nico, originally from Argentina, brings his background in architecture and graphic design to their projects. Now settled in Aotearoa, he adds a creative and technical touch to their shared ventures, ensuring every product is visually stunning.
The Wildering Nook was born from Annie and Nico's desire to provide high-quality education resources to the homes of families across New Zealand, to nurture curiosity and wonder. By supporting The Wildering Nook, you contribute to their mission to bring the magic of nature into the lives of children and their families, fostering a deep-rooted love and understanding of the world around us—and an appreciation for kindness.
